It’s October in Tennessee! The air is crisp, the sky is the brightest blue we see all year, the humidity is down (finally), the leaves are striking shades of deep red, orange and yellow… and 1 out of 3 girls are wearing boots (may not be statistically accurate, but it feels right). I don’t know about you guys, but fall (autumn) is my favorite season of the year. October in particular is my favorite month. Let’s ignore for a moment that I was also born in October. ;o) I truly love this month—the changing weather is the open door to the holiday season! Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course, CHRISTMAS.
This brings me to my main point. Are you on Pinterest? If you’re not, WHY NOT?! Kidding. I love it. It’s an organizer’s dream. Every DIY idea, holiday recipe, decorating inspiration, party theme, cleaning recipe you can think of, all cataloged and neatly stored in one place for you to find later. I’m obsessed and use it for everything I need to plan, organize, work out… the list goes on. If you’re on there, follow me!

Okay, now I’m really on to my main point. I decided to share with you my 5 favorite Halloween foodie pins that I have saved so far (AKA recipes and food ideas that look amazing). And, following good Pinterest/blogger etiquette, I have provided the links where these pins originated from. ;o) Please be sure to visit these websites and blogs, and ALWAYS pin from the original source so you can give credit where credit is due! (Side note: when I pin from a foodie or craft blog I follow regularly, I always put the blog name in the pin description. I feel like it’s just the right thing to do… ya know, good promotion and all that stuff.)
Candy Corn Cookie Crunch. Who doesn’t love candy corn? (Don’t answer that) This recipe is a great base idea to create your own Halloween-inspired party mix! I can think of several ways to modify this and I plan to very soon.

Spider Web Dip. This is basically one of those 7-layer taco dips that we all love, but designed for Halloween fun! I could stick my face in it…

Spooky Eyes Pretzel Bark. I am a sucker when it comes to the sweet and salty combination, so this is a real winner for me. Plus, the googly eyes add a nice touch. ;o) Eye See You…

Owl-o-ween Deviled Eggs. They had me at “owl”. These are so stinking cute, I almost can’t eat them. I think the olives will add the perfect saltiness to these eggy friends.

Ghostly Peeps Fun. Let me just admit something right here, right now… I do not like peeps. I repeat, I do not like peeps! Please don’t judge me. Peeps alone are a migraine waiting to happen. However, there are two methods of eating peeps that just may entice me to eat them: toasted in a smore (have you tried this? It actually sounds good) and on top of hot chocolate to replace the marshmallow. I’m thinking about trying this one out. It’s cute. It’s fun. It’s a good way to use those peeps!!

P.S. If you LOVE peeps way more than I do, Your Home Based Mom is your home plate for all things peeps! This blogger is brilliant when it comes to creative ways to display, present and eat peeps. Here’s just one of a few posts dedicated to peep-dom: Peep Round Up
